This blog (networkninja.co.oza) is not to be considered professional opinion; it is my personal path, notes, discussions and journal to CCNP, CCDA, CCDP, CCIE and other Cisco certifications that I am working towards. I am compiling this to solidify knowledge and compile a knowledge base of interconnected concepts, constructs and topics that is “networking”. I want to have a visual representation of my studies and how the topics interconnect with one another and build on one another.
This blog forces me to logically express the topics and link them to one another. This blog is publically available on a public domain networkninja.co.za and as such forces neat and diligent work, this also means that I must first understand what I am writing before I waffle on about things. This is in no way a sign the blog has any visitors/readers/followers and not the motivation for this blog.
This blog and opinions expressed in posts/pages are those of the author (Deon Botha), all comments are personal opinions of those respective authors and not my own. Just in case someone takes offense to something.
I take some time to make my working space neat and tidy (see above for why) and sometimes mess around with the software (wordpress) and the general look and feel (theme) of the blog. This is a very limited hobby of sorts and I am not a professional web-developer or web-designer. I test the appearance of my changes on Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 3, and Safari 3 just to make sure I don’t break something. I cannot garauntee your use and enjoyment of this blog further than my limited testing and best efforts.
All study related materials, summaries, notes, configurations are in no way meant to be judged or mistaken for replacements for authorized and recognized Cisco Systems, Inc. training provided by Cisco, Cisco Press, Cisco Partners and/or other recognized and authorized channels.
This is definitely not authorized training and should not to be mistaken for authorized training, AGAIN this is not recognized training for any Cisco certification and not to be mistaken for recognized training. So in short THIS IS NOT TRAINING PERIOD.
The network diagrams, content, configs and any material not my own belongs to the respective owners. I will make due care and diligence to reference and or link to works not my own, errors and omissions may occur, please let me know if this has occurred and I will make the needed changes (contact form below).
Everything on this blog is compiled from various sources:
- Cisco Systems, Inc. config guides, tech notes, etc http://www.cisco.com
- Cisco Press, Books and study aids for Certifications, Website http://www.ciscopress.com
- Materials from Cisco Training Providers, Bytes and/or Torque IT in my case
- Community Blogs, their articles and views on topics, Side panel on main page for list of blogs I follow daily
- The Big G for anything else (Google)
I generally link to online content to give the author kudos and respect for their work otherwise I do this to show source, offline content like books and other materials (hardcopy) are generally all Cisco Press or Cisco Training Materials (CCNP books etc) or boot camp manuals, etc. As a side not if anyone wants a list of harcopy books I own please send me an email (contact form below).
To disclose my relationship with Configure Terminal and David Bombal; for my “use and enjoyment” of their Command Memorizer I act as a product tester and reviewer. Basically I find stuff that could be improved / made better and then contact them for a response / update before slating them on my blog as either “the greatest thing since sliced bread” or “a piece of total rubbish”. In no way has money changed hands and in no way do I benifit materially other than through the “use and enjoyment” of the software.
Finally and in closing if there is any doubt as to the ownership of something (network diagrams, pictures, content) found on this blog Copyright goes to Cisco Systems, Inc. to prevent disputes as this is a not-for-profit endeavour which runs out of my pocket and my bank manager doesn’t like me as is and I do not wish legal action taken against me which wastes time and energy and makes the bank manager dislike me even more.
